FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Montessori?
At the children’s Kiva, we use Montessori inspired learning within the classroom. Montessori is a learning approach developed by Dr. Maria Montessori that focuses on students' individual interests within the learning environment.
How will you stay in touch with us?
We prefer to stay in touch with families using ProCare, a mobile app that allows us to connect with our families easily. We can also provide print outs if preferred.
What do I do if my child is sick?
Please let the office know if your child is sick and won’t be coming into school. If your child vomits or has a fever we ask that you please keep your child home until they are symptom free for 24 hours. Notify the school as soon as you find out from your doctor about any contagious conditions, so we can be sure to be alert to symptoms in others.
What do we do if there is adverse weather?
We follow the RE-1 School district for weather delays/closures. We will send out an SMS alert through Procare as soon as possible to let you know about any adverse weather that will affect our school.
Do you offer Financial Aid?
If your child turns 4 before the RE-1 age requirement cut off date (Oct 1.), or if they’re a qualifying 3 year old (ex. IEP, Dual Language, Low Income) they may qualify for Colorado Universal Preschool funding (UPK). UPK is a free application that is open to all qualifying families. You can find more information about it here: https://upk.colorado.gov/. We also accept CCCAP for all ages and offer a sliding scale if you do not qualify for other funding options.
